Hi @johnsolo, YouTube will work with Google Apps if your domain has transitioned to the new infrastructure and YouTube has been enabled by the domain administrator .
Cool, thanks, found it under users/groups then services, I am surprised its not on the list of services you can add from the Add more Services link on the main dashboard.
This will be great! I am excited to see Profiles and +1 for internal use at our company - should be a great feature.
Any word when Google Buzz will come to Google Apps for Enterprise? That would be a great accompaniment to these features! This blog said Buzz was coming soon back in February 2010 http://googleenterprise.blogspot.com/2010/02/google-buzz-coming-soon-for-businesses.html - no word since then! I'd love an update on that too :-) Thanks, keep up the great work - much obliged.
This would definitely narrow down the time consumed in researching topics. Got a first hand experience on how community vote for sensible piece of infos. Quite handy.
That's great, but if Google really wants to beat Facebook at its own game, then they won't do it by making a knock-off of a feature that Facebook already has.
Instead, Google should offer a feature that Facebook does *not* already have. What infuriates me about Facebook is that I don't have the ability to "dislike" something. So how about "-1" (in addition to "+1")?
This isn't a novel concept by the way - message boards have been using mod points for years. I just haven't seen the idea applied to mainstream social networking yet. The major players would seem to prefer to play-up the positive, but down-play the negative.
Excellent news, however profiles for apps users has been promised for over a year, not to mention that Buzz for apps was promised to happen within weeks of the initial Buzz release.
So tired of being a second class citizen as an apps account user................ I can't use buzz, latitude, and a bunch of other features....... I love you Google, why don't you love me back?
latitude is available for google apps users. buzz? meh but profiles is something i wouldn't mind plus the ability to share my private picasa albums with people outside my domain via groups in google contacts.
Google's renouned timekeeping shown at it's very best. If you follow a lot of their releases, you'll soon learn to take their release dates with a pinch of salt.
I'd "+1" the following comment, by @gerwitz, if I could: "I'm afraid that rapture did not occur, so you all are still on the hook to make good on this."
I wish I could +1 this but this is still not possible...surely you should give the means to your most loyal Google users to help you push +1 across the web...
When you launched buzz at the beginning of 2010, you said it would be available for paying Apps users in a few months. Then in March 2011 you said it would be available in a few weeks. It's now mid-June and no sign of it.
Google, Thanks for shafting your paying customers.
Good question @redstudio. Picasa groups aremnessed now. I want to share albums with my non google apps / gmail using friends using groups and i can't. Thats another forum thread the google team seem to have forgotten about, too.
"We’re going to bring Google Profiles to you in a few weeks."
It will be 12 weeks tomorrow.
Obviously the definition of "few" can depend on the context. However, I believe most people would agree that 12 weeks (and counting) is more accurately described by the phrase "a few months" or "a quarter of a year" than "a few weeks."
If you need a few months to deliver this feature, just say so. Please don't break your promises without an explanation. After similar delays in rolling out Buzz to Apps users, I have a hard time believing anything Google says about Google Apps until the features are actually live on our accounts.
Here's a thought. Buzz sucks and is not nearly the Twitter competition Google envisioned it to be. Google retired Wave and now Health. There's some people that think Buzz might be retired some time soon. If so, the Apps team is not going to spend any time getting Buzz to work with Apps. Since Profiles and +1 need Buzz you see there's a problem.
In any event, if Google would just respond here to let us know there's a delay and why I'm sure we'd all be understanding. The lack of response is what is making Google look increasingly bad, and not just on this issue (I'm still not seeing a People Widget in my Gmail).
I used to have a Google Profile. Then you transitioned my Google Apps account so that I couldn't have one anymore. Now I can't take part in the new Google Plus service. Feels like I'm being treated worse for being loyal to Google.
Would love to try out Google+, but too bad, since my primary Google account is an Apps account with my own domain, I can't get Profiles, hence I can't access Google+.
How do I downgrade from my Paid Google Accounts to the Free? There are so many Google Services that I cannot use (or gain full / proper access to) because of this false promise on March 30 of... wait for it ... "Coming Soon".
I guess we are talking 'Biblical Soon'?
Please, Church of El Goog - Speed Up Time? Your few weeks has expired. Google Profiles is being tied into Every Service and your PAYING CUSTOMERS are getting Robbed!
You forced the transition from GApps Accounts to what was supposed to be 'normal' Google Accounts - now, we'd like to see those bennies.
Wow. Just wow. Once again Google Apps users are getting the shaft. They just launched Google Plus, and you need google profiles to use it....
Which makes me wonder.... why Google are you pursuing social? Because you yourselves aren't very sociable with your customers.... You post now and then. Make promises. Take forever to deliver them. And the worst of all, you remain silent for months sometimes even years. Your customer service is horrible! Really, the silence is deafening.
Granted, I use the Free version of Google Apps. I have all of my clients on it as well. (The product is great!). And I have seriously considered upgrading. (And my clients as well). But I'm glad that I did not! Because your customer service is nil.
So how is this going to affect the new Google Social Network? - http://plus.google.com
There are numerous problems and conflicts with Apps accounts and using Google. GOOGLE PLEASE START A CUSTOMER SERVICE HOTLINE! You are big enough and have enough money to do it. You have millions of customers across the world, yet you still don't have any customer service. What the hell?!
even an update would be nice. i know it takes longer for apps stuff and you don't want to release / support cutting edge technology but some sense of a timeframe would be appreciated.
"we’ll also be providing administrator options to keep profiles and +1’s for Google Apps users private within an organization, so that this information will only be viewable by your colleagues."
Google Apps admins want both public and private profiles
"A few weeks" has become "a quarter" - 14 weeks now... Google Apps users really want to help make features like +1 and Google+ a success, but we can't participate without profiles! Please, Google, can we get some sort of update? In the tech world, we'd rather hear bad news and know than wait and hear silence.
"the +1 button will only work if you have a Google Profile, which is not available in Apps yet. We’re going to bring Google Profiles to you in a few weeks."
Please define "a few". 12 is not "a few" for most of us.
When when when when? I use Google Apps for myself only, but this is ridiculous. You shun actual paying customers when releasing these awesome new products.
For goodness sake, we transitioned our business to Google Apps for mail 5 weeks ago. If we'd known what other issues this would cause (the whole Apps/Account merger, Android phones needing factory resets, lack of access to services like Profile and Buzz) we'd have never done it.
Now our IT admin has egg on his face, and in the office 'Google' is a derogatory term like 'Microsoft' used to be.
Come on Google, about time you actually released the features you've been chatting about for Google Apps. I think you meant months, rather than weeks, about time you delivered!
please, when? we aren't few who use Google Apps for our personal domains, probably also your biggest fans, but you treat us as third class citizens. always excluding us.
I really want those Google Profiles! Us Apps-users are missing out on so much as it is right now. Its really a pain to have to use two separate Google accounts.
unclear language on the transition pages for Google apps admins has made losing Google services like plus 1 and Google profile a painful experience for me.
I am not sure what is Google's definition of a few weeks, but it is now 3 months or 12 weeks ago that this was posted and Profiles is still not available for Google Apps. It seems this is more than a "few" weeks. It would be nice if Google can provide a more accurate timeline when they set expectations!
An update would be nice, months have past now and nothing. Not only can I not create a profile, but I cannot use +1 and I cannot use Google plus. Why promise something and then go silent?
I know it is not that easy to provide an ETA in the world of software development but, it would be great to have some indication when G+ and Profiles will eventually be available for G Apps
Still no updates from what I can tell. What makes me laugh is that when I use Google+ on my mobile, it'll say that profiles aren't enabled for my organisation. Tell me where the heck I enable them then! :P
Man, I love it when other companies drop the ball like this, but Google? You are supposed to be the good guys. *STILL* no profiles for us Apps users, over 3 months later? I'm starting to regret switching my personal email over to Google Apps - I was better off just forwarding all my email to my Gmail account - at least then, I had access to all the kickass Google applications. I'd really *love* to hear the explanation for why every new feature comes to Google Apps users WELL after everyone else gets it.
Seriously....It seems like it would be a good idea to provide some sort of an update on this, even if it's just to say "we're working on it" or something. This just looks really bad. Everyone commenting here is a paying customer, unlike all of the people who are able to use Google Plus and Profiles.
Unfortunately google has been destroyed by their growth. They are now just another huge company that cannot deliver. I also use them for ads (can you say monopoly) and cannot use YouTube promotions (it broke) and I cannot get anyone to fix it. It's a shame as I used to be a huge fan. We need a new / the next google.
mhhhhh.......dear google, google apps users are the ones you want first on the platform, not the last. They are active users and would spread the word - make entire organizations switch from fb to g+.
....and, BTW, you probably know announcing a - yet vague - deadline and not respecting it is only going to make your customer feel teased and angry with the company, not a good move.
Google, can we get some more information here already? Between this and the 100+ comments on http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Google+Apps/thread?tid=17b45c62b43447f6&hl=en, this is downright embarrassing.
As always, it isn't having blown an optimistic projection here that's aggravating - it's the wall of silence that follows.
This is unacceptable, Google. Get it together before it bites you where it hurts (your pocket). You have one chance at Facebook, and you're blowing it!
"soon"... I'm infuriated every time a friend says "I have an invite if you need one" to which I must reply - "Oh, I pay Google to host our business accounts and they somehow don't allow us to use these nice new toys."
It's not only about Google+, it is terrible you have us waiting for an old product as Google Profiles and Buzz. Not all Google Apps account are businesses and need different tools than individuals. I have an Apps family account and you keep alerting me that an organization is managing it. It is my primary account and I'll don't change it, which doesn't mean I don't have a social map. SEE REALITY.
Come on Google, pull one of your many thumbs out of where ever it's been stuck. To top off this issue for me, I just received a Google+ invite that's just sitting there.... mocking me... as you've left me bereft of a Google Profile to use it. Oh woe is me... :(
It's a shame we have to dig around in the background trying to fumble around to find out what is happening... We are the developers and project managers that promote the use of this stuff to clients...
Clients ask us about it, and we have to say we haven't had much of a play as for the 95% of the time we spend logged into our PROFESSIONAL PAID FOR Google account, we can't use the features....
Didn't MS and Apple start to have problems when they treated their developers as second class citizens ?
It's revisiting google buzz all over again... Feb 2010 - yes of course we getting buzz for google apps... July 2011... where is buzz?!?!??!??! Google have either become suicidal or Microsoft has paid them to suck!
When is Google Profiles and Google+ coming for Google Apps users? So much for soon! We are Google's most loyal and integrated users. We run our businesses in the Google-sphere. We need these services more than a joeschmoe@gmail does. Please, please push out Google Profiles and Google+ for us right away!
Now that Google+ seems to be gaining a lot of popularity, I've got friends closing their FB accounts and going to Google+... and thanks to Google, I can't connect with them online easily now!
Well fyi it still isn't available. Apparently, according to a friend of mine who has a Google Apps account, you have to literally merge your personal gmail and apps accounts and it's a complicated process. Why the heck is Google avoiding explaining how to do it rather than having all of us submit work tickets. Terrible customer service.
I used to recommend Google Apps to friends. No longer. For every new, exciting service launch Google persistently leave Google Apps waiting for access for months or years. Google never provides TTA information or any information for Apps users. It is a long, frustrating wait. So anyone even a little interested in Google+ or whatever Google might have planned next should stay away from Google Apps and ending their Google Apps subscription. It is much, much better to just stick to regular free gmail accounts. Why does Google treat Google Apps customers so much worse? How can that make sense? That is a mystery.
First I spend two days sorting out your account transition and trying to make the data migration work. Once finished with that headache, then I discover that I've locked myself out of the Google+ account I just spent a couple of days building out. This is total crap. You don't communicate honestly, you screw over your loyal users (Apps) . . . have you been following the airline management handbook? Even Apple doesn't treat it users this Imperially!
At Google suggestion I merged my account that actually worked with Google+ with my enterprise one... and now I'm locked out of it. I still get the updates by email when people add me to their circles and can't do anything at all. Thanks, Google.
The more I read about the direction Google is moving the more it makes me thing those of us who use Google Apps for our personal domains will forever be left out in the cold. I'm not a business and it makes absolutely no sense for me to have a business Google+ page.
I'm with @arvee in that I no longer recommend use Google to host their domains. Google doesn't acknowledge diversity in their Apps customers but rather lumps us all together as if we're all General Electric.
soon [soon] Show IPA adverb, -er, -est. 1. within a short period after this or that time, event, etc.: We shall know soon after he calls. 2. before long; in the near future; at an early date: Let's leave soon. 3. promptly or quickly: He came as soon as he could. 4. readily or willingly: I would as soon walk as ride. 5. early in a period of time; before the time specified is much advanced: soon at night; soon in the evening.
arvee said it so well, I'm just going to copy it here and hope that someone at Google reads this stuff. For a company that wants to organize the world's information, they sure are awful at releasing any.
arvee said... "I used to recommend Google Apps to friends. No longer. For every new, exciting service launch Google persistently leave Google Apps waiting for access for months or years. Is there a timeline for this ? If google+ integration in google apps will be as good as youtube (as in "non-existing", then I predict that google+ will be a real hit (sarcasm :p )
+1, still waiting too. And make it so that I can use my primary account (=admin account) for that without having to move my mail to some random address!
I created #profilesForGoogleApps on twitter to see if we can get some momentum by converging everyone scattered across blogs, forums , etc. Anyone with twitter is more than welcome to post to see if we cant make enough noise.
How about a beta for Apps users? Maybe ones that are for personal use? Just Business Apps? Have us agree that things can get messy and we won't complain?
It's August 30th now. If by "in the next few weeks", do you mean 5 months? Over and over, I am disappointed by the fact that you fail to add features that you say that you were going to. If you are a salesman for Windows Live Domains, you are a very good one, and may have sold me pretty soon. You are neglecting your most loyal customers. Could you at least give us a beta, or the version that exists with regular Gmail? Procrastination is not a good method of getting things working, so why are you doing it? Next time you say something is coming soon, I will look a year later to see if it is there yet. Seriously, Google.
It's nice that we pay in order to be given access to apps months or years later than free accounts and months or years beyond those already late dates we are given in the context of "soon now." Nice business model.
http://code.google.com/p/google-plus-platform/issues/detail?id=22 seems to be the place to be to discuss the apps-missing-profiles issue currently, as a result of the latest Google Plus announcements on http://googlemobile.blogspot.com/2011/09/google-101-102-103-104-105-106-107.html
"Today, Google+ is available for everybody!" — except for for Google Apps users. Why? Why is it so difficult to implement this feature for us poor suckers?! Google Apps users are among the most loyal Google users and never had the opportunity to use neither Buzz nor G+. How you define "soon"? Does "soon" mean: We have absolutely no idea whether it's possible at all or even when it will be actually available but we keep the hopes of those poor suckers alive.
Maybe we should have asked what "Soon" means in google-esse. The company is famous for multi-year betas after all, "soon" could very well span between tomorrow and the heat death of the universe.
You should be ashamed Google. It's unbelievable that your _paying_ customers are constantly treated as second class citizens. There's no way to express that politely: You suck.
This is very ridiculous, Google Apps users should have the option to use all services at start. An even better idea would be a "Alpha Tester" option for Apps users, so the apps could be tested by Google evangelists before it is released to the general populous.
Did I miss YouTube for Google Apps? This is the message I receive when trying to login to YouTube with my Google Apps account:
ReplyDeleteThis service is not available
YouTube is not available for "My Domain Here".
Hi @johnsolo,
ReplyDeleteYouTube will work with Google Apps if your domain has transitioned to the new infrastructure and YouTube has been enabled by the domain administrator .
Happy YouTube'ing!
Cool, thanks, found it under users/groups then services, I am surprised its not on the list of services you can add from the Add more Services link on the main dashboard.

I'd love an update on that too :-) Thanks, keep up the great work - much obliged.
The news about Profiles is awesome! So will you allow a gmail.com Profile to be merged with an Apps Profile? Hope so!
ReplyDeleteThis is great news, I really missed a Google profile for my Google Apps account.
ReplyDeletethx, great stuff
I'd also like to know about Buzz. The new checking features of Latitude would be handy, but they require Buzz.
ReplyDeleteExcellent news indeed. I'll be looking forward to the release!
ReplyDeleteAre we expecting Buzz to be rolled out also once the profiles are up?
This would definitely narrow down the time consumed in researching topics. Got a first hand experience on how community vote for sensible piece of infos. Quite handy.
ReplyDeleteI miss access to my Google Profile for my Google Apps account too.
ReplyDeleteTighter integration of the two systems would be appreciated.
Wil.
That's great, but if Google really wants to beat Facebook at its own game, then they won't do it by making a knock-off of a feature that Facebook already has.
ReplyDeleteInstead, Google should offer a feature that Facebook does *not* already have. What infuriates me about Facebook is that I don't have the ability to "dislike" something. So how about "-1" (in addition to "+1")?

Excellent news, however profiles for apps users has been promised for over a year, not to mention that Buzz for apps was promised to happen within weeks of the initial Buzz release.
ReplyDeleteI wait with skepticism.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I can't wait to get my domain switched over.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to this.. very much
ReplyDeleteJust curious. The posting says we'll see this in a few weeks. Are we looking at May? June? July? Just curious. :-)
ReplyDeleteSo tired of being a second class citizen as an apps account user................
ReplyDeleteI can't use buzz, latitude, and a bunch of other features.......
I love you Google, why don't you love me back?
latitude is available for google apps users.
ReplyDeletebuzz? meh
but profiles is something i wouldn't mind plus the ability to share my private picasa albums with people outside my domain via groups in google contacts.
@Withers brings up something. Yes, we're getting Profiles. Will we necessarily get Buzz and Latitude check-ins?
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to Google closing the gap.
Progress? Update? Hello?
ReplyDeleteReally hoping this comes soon!!!
ReplyDeleteWorst part though is the confusion. Some of the services that depend on e.g. Google Profiles simply fail without any indication of why.
ReplyDeleteNot so bad for me - I know why it doesn't work. But many users are baffled why things don't work and will e.g. keep trying to do check-ins.
A good error message goes a long way...
@Withers
Agreed - very tired of paying extra to be a second class user of Google services.
Google? You said a few weeks... its been a month and half now... any progress?
ReplyDeleteHow long is "a few weeks?"
ReplyDeleteSeven weeks since we heard:
ReplyDelete"We’re going to bring Google Profiles to you in a few weeks."
Were you just kidding?
Google's renouned timekeeping shown at it's very best. If you follow a lot of their releases, you'll soon learn to take their release dates with a pinch of salt.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid that rapture did not occur, so you all are still on the hook to make good on this.
ReplyDeleteAny updates on progress?
ReplyDeleteAnybody home? It would be really nice to see some follow-through occasionally.
ReplyDeleteAny update? With +1 going live on sites all over the net today, I'm getting sick and tired of:
ReplyDelete"Oops... you need a Google profile to use this feature.
Google Profiles is not available for your organization."
On another note, why is that we pay for our accounts and get this stuff months after the free accounts?? Seems odd to me.
Knock knock, who's there? Not Google, where are my profiles?!?!?!
ReplyDeleteWhen, when, when will this be available? Ugh. Come on, Google. Stop punishing Apps users.
ReplyDeletehey, now that +1 is launched how about enabling Profiles for Apps users so they aswell can join in. How soon is now?
ReplyDelete"follow-through" is not what Google is known for :) Still waiting months after this post.
ReplyDelete+1s are now appearing in Blogs. Google also declared that they will appear in many Google's products.
ReplyDelete"We’re going to bring Google Profiles to you in a few weeks"
ReplyDeleteTen weeks and counting :-)
+1 is now here and Apps users are effectively locked out of using it. How soon is 'coming soon' ?
ReplyDeleteNearly 9 weeks now - any update on availability?
ReplyDeleteI'd "+1" the following comment, by @gerwitz, if I could: "I'm afraid that rapture did not occur, so you all are still on the hook to make good on this."
ReplyDeletePlease make it available for Google Apps soon... I want to be social!!!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could +1 this but this is still not possible...surely you should give the means to your most loyal Google users to help you push +1 across the web...
ReplyDeleteWill this also fix the broken groups system in Picasa?
ReplyDeleteGoogle, did you mean a few months... or maybe a few years. Is this your way of supporting Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare and Groupon?
ReplyDeleteWhen you launched buzz at the beginning of 2010, you said it would be available for paying Apps users in a few months. Then in March 2011 you said it would be available in a few weeks. It's now mid-June and no sign of it.
ReplyDeleteGoogle, Thanks for shafting your paying customers.
Seriously?? Nothing yet??
ReplyDeleteGood question @redstudio. Picasa groups aremnessed now. I want to share albums with my non google apps / gmail using friends using groups and i can't. Thats another forum thread the google team seem to have forgotten about, too.
ReplyDeleteGoogle, is there any update to this? I think a lot of us would calm down if we just knew when this would actually happen.
ReplyDelete"We’re going to bring Google Profiles to you in a few weeks."
ReplyDeleteIt will be 12 weeks tomorrow.
Obviously the definition of "few" can depend on the context. However, I believe most people would agree that 12 weeks (and counting) is more accurately described by the phrase "a few months" or "a quarter of a year" than "a few weeks."

ReplyDeleteI don't think my definition of soon is the same as google's....
ReplyDeleteAny update?
ReplyDeleteI used to have a Google Profile. Then you transitioned my Google Apps account so that I couldn't have one anymore. Now I can't take part in the new Google Plus service. Feels like I'm being treated worse for being loyal to Google.
ReplyDeletebadly waiting for months . . .
ReplyDeleteI'm very excited to see these features come to Google Apps. Hopefully it will be soon, as I don't have a regular google account I use regularly.
ReplyDeleteI would +1 this commend but it still isn't available for Google Apps!
ReplyDeleteMight as well add my 2 cents. Without Profiles the new Google+ does not work either.
ReplyDeleteStill waiting? We want to use google+ we're the ones who can really make this work!
ReplyDeleteYou are shooting yourselves in the foot.
Google, define "Soon" please...
ReplyDelete"We’re going to bring Google Profiles to you in a few weeks."
ReplyDeleteIt will be 3 month tomorrow.
When are you gone add Profiles to Google apps users?
Still waiting...
ReplyDeleteWould love to try out Google+, but too bad, since my primary Google account is an Apps account with my own domain, I can't get Profiles, hence I can't access Google+.
ReplyDeleteWhy still no rollout for the GAPPS user?
ReplyDeleteIt appears Google Apps users are now also blocked from Google+ as well. Google, please provide an update.
ReplyDeleteHow do I downgrade from my Paid Google Accounts to the Free? There are so many Google Services that I cannot use (or gain full / proper access to) because of this false promise on March 30 of... wait for it ... "Coming Soon".

So that few weeks has really dragged on eh?
ReplyDeleteWow. Just wow. Once again Google Apps users are getting the shaft. They just launched Google Plus, and you need google profiles to use it....

Seriously disappointed.
some are surprised this hasn't materialised

ReplyDeleteGoogle Plus is here... would love to use it... (along with Buzz, +1, Places, etc.) But I can't! I NEED A PROFILE!!!
ReplyDeletePlease?
Hello!?
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI recently received a Google+ invite to my Google Apps email address and am unable to use it due to the lack of profile support :(
If you need any beta testers for profile support in apps, sign me up please!
even an update would be nice. i know it takes longer for apps stuff and you don't want to release / support cutting edge technology but some sense of a timeframe would be appreciated.
ReplyDelete"we’ll also be providing administrator options to keep profiles and +1’s for Google Apps users private within an organization, so that this information will only be viewable by your colleagues."
ReplyDeleteGoogle Apps admins want both public and private profiles
What happened with those few weeks?
ReplyDeleteYup...still waiting with no new info which is perfect since Google+ launched and also requires Google Profiles. Yay!
ReplyDeleteJune immediately passed .... still waiting for google profile
ReplyDeleteyeah... would be awesome to get an update :-(
ReplyDeleteI understand that Google wants to add it's controls for enterprises to manage who can share outside the enterprise, and whatnot.
ReplyDeleteFor those of us who manage an apps domain that don't need those features, can you please just open it up?
One more frustrated Apps user here. Please give us an update.
ReplyDeleteIt's about time to release profile for apps users now, google. Or at least give us a sign that you're awake and have a plan?
ReplyDeleteStill waiting... :\
ReplyDeleteCome on Google... First it was weeks now its months.

ReplyDelete"the +1 button will only work if you have a Google Profile, which is not available in Apps yet. We’re going to bring Google Profiles to you in a few weeks."
ReplyDeletePlease define "a few". 12 is not "a few" for most of us.
Coming soon to Google Apps....
ReplyDeletepffffff
Come on, Google. Have mercy! We need G+!
ReplyDeleteWhen when when when? I use Google Apps for myself only, but this is ridiculous. You shun actual paying customers when releasing these awesome new products.
ReplyDeleteHello? Any update on this?
ReplyDelete+1 for Google to fix this! :)
ReplyDeleteOr at least... let the users know what the time frame guesstimates are. It's frustrating to be left in the dark.
For goodness sake, we transitioned our business to Google Apps for mail 5 weeks ago. If we'd known what other issues this would cause (the whole Apps/Account merger, Android phones needing factory resets, lack of access to services like Profile and Buzz) we'd have never done it.
ReplyDeleteNow our IT admin has egg on his face, and in the office 'Google' is a derogatory term like 'Microsoft' used to be.
This original post was supposed to have been made on April 1st not March 30th its obviously a joke.
ReplyDeleteCome on Google, about time you actually released the features you've been chatting about for Google Apps. I think you meant months, rather than weeks, about time you delivered!
ReplyDeleteIronic +1 to this!
ReplyDeleteHello Google??? Where's Profiles/+1/Buz etc for Google Apps?????
ReplyDeleteStill waiting...
ReplyDeleteStill waiting...
ReplyDeleteI can't use Google+ & +1 button :(
How can it take this long to allow profile support? Surely the 'recent' infrastructure change you made makes this so much more simple?
ReplyDeleteI need Google+
Would definitely love to see Google+ support on our Google Apps account!
ReplyDeletePaying customers don't get new features.. free customers get new features.. WTF?
ReplyDeleteplease, when? we aren't few who use Google Apps for our personal domains, probably also your biggest fans, but you treat us as third class citizens. always excluding us.
ReplyDeleteI really want those Google Profiles! Us Apps-users are missing out on so much as it is right now. Its really a pain to have to use two separate Google accounts.
ReplyDelete"We will respond to open issues addressed in Comments with future posts on this blog."
ReplyDeleteGo on then, respond with a date.
Update please need profiles in google apps
ReplyDeletecouple days passed, so? enable it for us (apps) please :)
ReplyDeleteCome on guys! A lot of people will appreciate this functionality a lot..
ReplyDeleteunclear language on the transition pages for Google apps admins has made losing Google services like plus 1 and Google profile a painful experience for me.
ReplyDeletePlease enable Google Profile for Google Apps! We all want to use Google+ !
ReplyDeleteGoogle disappoints, no profile, and hence, no G+. Sucks big time.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure what is Google's definition of a few weeks, but it is now 3 months or 12 weeks ago that this was posted and Profiles is still not available for Google Apps. It seems this is more than a "few" weeks. It would be nice if Google can provide a more accurate timeline when they set expectations!
ReplyDeleteComming too much...
ReplyDeletePlease please bring Google Profile to Google Apps... Using Google+ in business would be awesome!
ReplyDeleteAn update would be nice, months have past now and nothing. Not only can I not create a profile, but I cannot use +1 and I cannot use Google plus. Why promise something and then go silent?
ReplyDeletefew weeks?
ReplyDelete"Soon", eh?
ReplyDeleteSoon needs to be now! Google + has much promise for education so we need Google profiles.
ReplyDeleteThat's what happens when there really is no master plan no design no architecture planning whatsoever in google.
ReplyDeleteThey just blurt out solutions, patches, etc..
We'll get this when we get this, if we get this.
Google Profiles for Apps coming? We're your most "embedded" users. Please push Profiles for us.
ReplyDeleteStill waiting :(
ReplyDeleteAny updates?
ReplyDeleteI know it is not that easy to provide an ETA in the world of software development but, it would be great to have some indication when G+ and Profiles will eventually be available for G Apps
ReplyDeleteStill no updates from what I can tell. What makes me laugh is that when I use Google+ on my mobile, it'll say that profiles aren't enabled for my organisation. Tell me where the heck I enable them then! :P
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame that Google is not able to tell us any better time frame than "a few weeks". Are 14 weeks still "a few"?!..
ReplyDelete:-(
Man, I love it when other companies drop the ball like this, but Google? You are supposed to be the good guys. *STILL* no profiles for us Apps users, over 3 months later? I'm starting to regret switching my personal email over to Google Apps - I was better off just forwarding all my email to my Gmail account - at least then, I had access to all the kickass Google applications. I'd really *love* to hear the explanation for why every new feature comes to Google Apps users WELL after everyone else gets it.
ReplyDeleteWay are you making the paying customers wait! This is terrible customer service.
ReplyDeleteA few weeks??? It's been over 3 months since this post.
ReplyDeleteWTF, Google?
ReplyDeleteNo more excuses Google. Just make it happen.
ReplyDeleteSeriously....It seems like it would be a good idea to provide some sort of an update on this, even if it's just to say "we're working on it" or something. This just looks really bad. Everyone commenting here is a paying customer, unlike all of the people who are able to use Google Plus and Profiles.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately google has been destroyed by their growth. They are now just another huge company that cannot deliver. I also use them for ads (can you say monopoly) and cannot use YouTube promotions (it broke) and I cannot get anyone to fix it. It's a shame as I used to be a huge fan. We need a new / the next google.
ReplyDeletestill not able to sign in google+...
ReplyDeletemhhhhh.......dear google, google apps users are the ones you want first on the platform, not the last. They are active users and would spread the word - make entire organizations switch from fb to g+.
ReplyDelete....and, BTW, you probably know announcing a - yet vague - deadline and not respecting it is only going to make your customer feel teased and angry with the company, not a good move.
Google, can we get some more information here already? Between this and the 100+ comments on http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Google+Apps/thread?tid=17b45c62b43447f6&hl=en, this is downright embarrassing.
ReplyDeleteAs always, it isn't having blown an optimistic projection here that's aggravating - it's the wall of silence that follows.
This is unacceptable, Google. Get it together before it bites you where it hurts (your pocket). You have one chance at Facebook, and you're blowing it!
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Super irritated Google Apps reseller
Come on....
ReplyDelete"soon"... I'm infuriated every time a friend says "I have an invite if you need one" to which I must reply - "Oh, I pay Google to host our business accounts and they somehow don't allow us to use these nice new toys."
ReplyDeleteTo quote Morrisey, "How soon is now?"
Come on google - sort it out
ReplyDeleteGoogle now says it's months out. https://groups.google.com/a/googleproductforums.com/forum/#!msg/google-plus-discuss/o9Tn_H85gkg/ShaSO_tXhHcJ
ReplyDeleteIt's not only about Google+, it is terrible you have us waiting for an old product as Google Profiles and Buzz. Not all Google Apps account are businesses and need different tools than individuals. I have an Apps family account and you keep alerting me that an organization is managing it. It is my primary account and I'll don't change it, which doesn't mean I don't have a social map. SEE REALITY.
ReplyDeleteI need this feature too :)
ReplyDeleteCome on Google, pull one of your many thumbs out of where ever it's been stuck. To top off this issue for me, I just received a Google+ invite that's just sitting there.... mocking me... as you've left me bereft of a Google Profile to use it. Oh woe is me... :(
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame we have to dig around in the background trying to fumble around to find out what is happening... We are the developers and project managers that promote the use of this stuff to clients...
ReplyDeleteClients ask us about it, and we have to say we haven't had much of a play as for the 95% of the time we spend logged into our PROFESSIONAL PAID FOR Google account, we can't use the features....
ReplyDeleteDitto to the above re the timeframe of this roll out.
ReplyDeletePLEASE GIVE US GOOGLE PROFILES as paying customers!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGoogle Apps users used to be Google Advocates. Is this how you reward Google Advocates ?
ReplyDeleteSome day my Google+ will come
ReplyDeleteSome day we'll meet again
And away to his Google Apps we'll go
To be happy forever I know
Google, your definition of 'soon' seems to be a LOT different than mine...
ReplyDelete*twiddle*
Lack of profiles on our apps accounts really harms us. WE NEED PROFILES AND ACCESS TO GOOGLE+!!!!!
ReplyDelete+1 on that or maybe one day..
ReplyDeleteWhen is Google Profiles and Google+ coming for Google Apps users? So much for soon! We are Google's most loyal and integrated users. We run our businesses in the Google-sphere. We need these services more than a joeschmoe@gmail does. Please, please push out Google Profiles and Google+ for us right away!
ReplyDelete3 1/2 months later and????
ReplyDeleteNow that Google+ seems to be gaining a lot of popularity, I've got friends closing their FB accounts and going to Google+... and thanks to Google, I can't connect with them online easily now!
Is there any new release date?
ReplyDeleteJust a little bump to make sure Google hears this very squeaky wheel...
ReplyDeleteStill waiting ;-)
ReplyDeleteWell fyi it still isn't available. Apparently, according to a friend of mine who has a Google Apps account, you have to literally merge your personal gmail and apps accounts and it's a complicated process. Why the heck is Google avoiding explaining how to do it rather than having all of us submit work tickets. Terrible customer service.
ReplyDeleteI used to recommend Google Apps to friends.
ReplyDeleteDefine 'soon'.
ReplyDelete+1, I think Google meant 20Never...
ReplyDeleteThis is a painful waiting period, being a paying customer I'm not happy at all
First I spend two days sorting out your account transition and trying to make the data migration work.
ReplyDeleteAt Google suggestion I merged my account that actually worked with Google+ with my enterprise one... and now I'm locked out of it. I still get the updates by email when people add me to their circles and can't do anything at all. Thanks, Google.
ReplyDelete9to5google.com is reporting that Google+ for businesses is a few months away.
ReplyDeletehttp://9to5google.com/2011/07/21/google-company-pages-coming-in-the-next-few-months-in-open-beta/
Google! Where are you!?!?!
ReplyDeleteDid you mean "soon" like Jesus meant it?
+1 ...someday
ReplyDeletesoon
ReplyDelete[soon] Show IPA
adverb, -er, -est.
1.
within a short period after this or that time, event, etc.: We shall know soon after he calls.
2.
before long; in the near future; at an early date: Let's leave soon.
3.
promptly or quickly: He came as soon as he could.
4.
readily or willingly: I would as soon walk as ride.
5.
early in a period of time; before the time specified is much advanced: soon at night; soon in the evening.
arvee said it so well, I'm just going to copy it here and hope that someone at Google reads this stuff. For a company that wants to organize the world's information, they sure are awful at releasing any.

No news yet I guess? :(
ReplyDelete+1, still waiting :-/
ReplyDeleteIs there a timeline for this ? If google+ integration in google apps will be as good as youtube (as in "non-existing", then I predict that google+ will be a real hit (sarcasm :p )
ReplyDeleteSome comment from Google on this would be great...
ReplyDeleteSoon (adv.):
ReplyDelete1. without undue time lapse.
2. in a prompt manner : speedily.
Google (n.):
1. cares very little about apps customers.
2. cannot use the term 'soon' properly.
+1, still waiting too. And make it so that I can use my primary account (=admin account) for that without having to move my mail to some random address!
ReplyDeleteI created #profilesForGoogleApps on twitter to see if we can get some momentum by converging everyone scattered across blogs, forums , etc.
ReplyDeleteAnyone with twitter is more than welcome to post to see if we cant make enough noise.
I would +1 this article if I could. How much longer will I have to wait???
ReplyDeleteHow about a beta for Apps users?
ReplyDeleteMaybe ones that are for personal use? Just Business Apps?
Have us agree that things can get messy and we won't complain?
Throw us a bone here... Profiles, Plus
ReplyDeleteIt's nice that we pay in order to be given access to apps months or years later than free accounts and months or years beyond those already late dates we are given in the context of "soon now." Nice business model.
ReplyDeleteC'mon Google. Still waiting after six months. That hardly classifies as 'soon'.
ReplyDeleteDear google, you presume too much thanking me for my patience.
ReplyDeleteNeedless to say, March to September is more than a few weeks, it's even more than a few months!
ReplyDeleteIt's been nearly six months into the few weeks. Any updates? What about Buzz?
ReplyDeleteHowwww muchhhh longgggerrr?
ReplyDeleteEveryone and there uncle can now join google plus since it's now open. Except if you already have a google account.
ReplyDeleteIt's like they are saying: we already have you so where not bothered with trying to please you...
http://code.google.com/p/google-plus-platform/issues/detail?id=22 seems to be the place to be to discuss the apps-missing-profiles issue currently, as a result of the latest Google Plus announcements on http://googlemobile.blogspot.com/2011/09/google-101-102-103-104-105-106-107.html
ReplyDelete"Today, Google+ is available for everybody!" — except for for Google Apps users.
ReplyDeletePoor job Google! A very poor job!
Hello... Testing, 1-2-3... Is this microphone on?
ReplyDeleteBlows my mind that Google is not only ignoring us, but spitting on us at the same time.
They just announced that Google+ is now "open to everyone."
It should read, "Everyone except our best, most loyal paying customers."
Google really dropped the ball on this one.
This is just silly. We're STILL waiting, but people with Hotmail and Yahoo email addresses can use Google+ right now!
ReplyDeleteLOL that's so backwards, Google! Come on already!
going into October... any hints on when 'soon' might be coming?
ReplyDeleteA ballpark would make a great difference, are we looking for another 3 months, 6 months? 2 years? Never???
Just give us a clue so we can make an informed decision.
Maybe we should have asked what "Soon" means in google-esse. The company is famous for multi-year betas after all, "soon" could very well span between tomorrow and the heat death of the universe.
ReplyDeleteAlmost 6 months later, still waiting.
+1; still waiting...
ReplyDeleteSoon? I am not sure that's the right word....
ReplyDeleteComing soon....it's 6 months now!
ReplyDelete+1, waiting. 6 months... is that soon ?
ReplyDeleteStill waiting :-( Why it takes so long?
ReplyDeleteA few weeks? -1 for Google's credibility.
ReplyDeleteCan we expect any progress?
ReplyDeleteAny day now...
ReplyDeleteAlmost 7 months and counting...
ReplyDeleteYou should be ashamed Google. It's unbelievable that your _paying_ customers are constantly treated as second class citizens. There's no way to express that politely: You suck.
ReplyDeleteThis is very ridiculous, Google Apps users should have the option to use all services at start. An even better idea would be a "Alpha Tester" option for Apps users, so the apps could be tested by Google evangelists before it is released to the general populous.
ReplyDelete
