No, it's one-way only as stated on the linked Google Apps Connector page which kind of defeats the whole purpose because that also means that scheduling meetings etc. won't work. No idea why this wouldn't work... Anyway, for enterprise applications the BES integration is pretty useless without calendar sync.
Here is part of a conversation I just had with a Google Apps rep:
Me: can I ask why the calendar will only have one-way sync? We are currently in the decision-making process, weighing Google Apps and Microsoft Exchange. Although we are very impressed with Google Apps, BES with Microsoft Exchange offers 2-way calendar sync and this is something that is a requirement for us.
Google: Our product developers are aware of this and are working to roll out two-way sync this year for the BES connector.
I use a BB and am very new to this platform. Not sure Aaron how this was done, but I do in facct have two-way sync with my BB calendar. I am anxiously waiting for the Google Apps Connector for BES to be available.
And How about BIS Connector? Can it sync Contacts "Pictures" in BB yet? I've to disable contact sync in Google Sync for BlackBerry and return to sync BB with Outlook 2007.
Just stumbled across this - hoping it might hold an answer to a real problem.
Assuming that the product was meant to extend BB to use google services. Would it then be possible to reverse the client use pattern?
IE - install and use Connector to feed and interact with BB server - but then use Android phone instead of BB device to communicate with the office via Google?
Not sure I'm describing clearly, but willing to try if anyone is monitoring this blog.
This is going to be a game changer!
ReplyDeleteAbout time!
ReplyDeleteGreat! For those who use BlackBerry but don;t have a BlackBerry Enterprise Server...how could we do the same integration?
ReplyDeleteThank you! Thank you! THANK YOU!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat initiative, is it possible to see a video demo over youTube for those of us not attending WES?
ReplyDeleteThanks,
-Félix

Is the calendar a 2 way sync, or one way TO the blackberry?

ReplyDeleteWill google offer a hosted BES Service for those of us without a BES Server?
ReplyDeleteNot only is the calendar one-way, but there is no sync of notes and tasks.
